I thought rear-facing was best - is a lateral-facing car seat safe?
We can understand the hesitancy! A car cot like calmi R129 sits very differently in a vehicle and operates uniquely in a crash, but it's been proven to be as effective in protecting your little one as our rear-facing infant carriers. A lateral-facing car seat like calmi R129 provides good head & neck protection in frontal impacts and excellent protection in side impact collisions. You don't have to take our word for it... when tested by the independent German safety testing organization ADAC, with crash tests known for going well above the requirements of even the highest EU standards, calmi R129 scored impressively.

How do I clean this seat's covers when they are dirty?
You can spot clean light marks with gentle cleaners. For heavier dirt, covers are removable and machine washable in cold water on the delicate cycle with a gentle detergent. Do not place fabrics in the dryer - hang dry only. Do not bleach, dry clean, or iron them.
When do I remove the infant insert from this seat?
The infant insert adds side protection for your baby and we recommend using the infant insert while your littlie is under 60 cm or until they outgrow the insert. You can remove the infant insert when your child's shoulders no longer fit comfortably and they are starting to look cramped or restricted.
Can this car seat be used on a flight?
calmi R129 is not airline approved for use in-flight.
