car seats
A: Most Joie car seats with a rear-facing mode come with an infant insert, typically with a low birth weight pillow included. Please make sure you are using both to eliminate any gap and avoid slouching. If the gap still exists, you may use a small washcloth sized towel to fill the gap. After your child is snugly harnessed in their seat (straps pass the pinch test), place the rolled washcloth in between baby’s bottom and the crotch buckle strap to fill the gap.
A: Some movement is normal with the rigid LATCH connectors. This is due to the LATCH connectors being in different spots in different vehicles, and has been accounted for in testing the car seat.
A: If you are using saffron™ SI in a vehicle seating position with dedicated lower anchors, we recommend using that install method when rear-facing. If this is not possible, you can use a seat belt lock or lock the seat belt without using the lock-off when installing your car seat. Please consult your car seat manual for detailed installation instructions. The seat is securely installed if your install moves less than 1” side to side and front to back at the belt path. If you're still running into issues, please contact customer service.
A: Car seats, and particularly those with a separate base, may make some noise when being transported unoccupied. Please check your car seat over to ensure that the seat is installed properly on your vehicle seat, and there aren’t any crumbs or debris stuck in a portion of the seat such as the headrest, harness adjuster, or other moving elements of your car seat. You can vacuum out the seat as needed. If the issue still persists, please call our Customer Service at +1(866) 798-7866 for assistance.

This is calculated by adding the child's weight + weight of the car seat. (Consult instruction manual, "Child Usage Requirements" for details.)
